You may or may not know that I am currently in the throes of a new food obsession (they change periodically – the last one was with apples). This time it is with the humble fig. I’ve been buying a kilo of them at the market every couple of days and going through them by the time I get back to buy some more. I find when I eat a hundred in one go that I get a sore tongue though so I’ve been finding some ways to use them in meals that are just as delicious. This smoothie was so good I wished I had of made more.
10 figs, cut in half or quarters
1 ripe banana1/4 cup yogurt
1/2 cup water (or milk)
If you haven’t already then wash your figs. Throw everything into a blender and process until smooth – about 30 seconds because the fig skins need to break up.
